Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: India (Remote – supporting UK team)

About the Role
We are a growing BPO based in Ahmedabad with UK operations looking for strong
technical accountant to support our UK team remotely.
This role is focused on bookkeeping, VAT returns, and year-end accounts
preparation, primarily
Key Responsibilities
1. Bookkeeping
- Maintain client books using cloud software (QuickBooks, Xero, Free Agent)
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Post journals including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments
- Review client data for completeness and accuracy
2. VAT Returns
- Prepare and review VAT returns (standard, flat rate, cash scheme)
- Ensure correct VAT treatment for transactions and raise queries where information is incomplete or unclear
- Support UK team in meeting VAT deadlines
3. Year-End Accounts and Corporation tax returns
- Prepare year-end accounts on FRS 102/ FRS 105 along with working papers and schedules
- Prepare Corporation tax return (CT600), ensuring optimal utilization of allowable expense and tax reliefs.
4. Client Queries & Communication
- Prepare clear and structured queries for missing information
- Liaise with UK team members to resolve issues
- Maintain good documentation and audit trail for all work
5. Process & Workflow Management
- Follow internal checklists and processes
- Meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce errors
Software Requirements
Experience with the following is essential:
- QuickBooks Online
- Xero
- FreeAgent
- TaxCalc
Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3–4 years’ experience in UK accountancy practice
- Strong understanding of UK accounting rules
- Experience preparing year-end accounts independently
- Good understanding of cloud accounting systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work to deadlines with minimal supervision
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Exposure to personal tax / self-assessment
- UK payroll experience
- CIS returns
Working Model
- Full-time remote role based in India

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
