Qualification
- Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the State Pharmacy Council.
Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy.
- Experience with Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and pharmacy management software is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Dispense medications accurately based on valid prescriptions.
- Verify prescriptions for correctness, dosage, contraindications, and potential drug interactions.
- Counsel patients on medication use, dosage, storage, and possible side effects.
- Maintain adequate stock levels and monitor medicine inventory.
- Ensure proper storage of medicines according to manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain records of controlled drugs and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with doctors and nursing staff regarding medication-related queries.
- Monitor expiry dates and arrange timely disposal of expired or damaged medicines.
- Maintain pharmacy documentation and inventory records.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and comply with hospital policies, NABH standards, and infection control practices.
