Position Summary:
The Godown In-charge is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, issuing, and dispatching materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring a safe, organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse/godown operations.
- Receive incoming goods and verify quantities and quality against purchase orders.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock checks.
- Issue materials as per authorized requisitions.
- Coordinate loading and unloading of goods.
- Prepare and maintain stock registers, GRNs, dispatch records, and other warehouse documentation.
- Monitor stock levels and inform management about shortages or excess inventory.
- Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) or FEFO (First Expired, First Out), where applicable.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and security of the godown.
- Supervise warehouse staff, helpers, and loaders.
- Coordinate with the procurement, production, sales, and logistics teams.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Investigate and report inventory discrepancies or damages.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or graduate (preferred).
- 2–5 years of experience in warehouse or inventory management.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, ERP/software experience preferred).
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
