The Head of Record to Report will lead the end-to-end R2R function within a global insurance shared services centre in Pune. This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across multiple legal entities and currencies. The individual will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the US, UK, and other regions, bringing strong expertise in global accounting standards. They will drive transformation through process simplification, automation, and standardization initiatives. As a senior leader, they will own KPIs, lead audits, and challenge existing practices to improve financial integrity. Experience in insurance, along with knowledge of UK/US accounting and tax frameworks, is highly desirable.

Own end-to-end R2R processes including general ledger, journal entries, intercompany, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, and financial close.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
- Proven experience in making month end close process more efficient and accelerating month end close timeline.
- Manage financial reporting across multiple legal entities and currencies.
- Partner with global stakeholders across the US, UK, and other regions.
- Drive process standardisation, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS / US GAAP) and internal controls.
- Monitor and report KPIs (close timelines, reconciliation quality, audit outcomes). Act as key point of contact for audits and senior stakeholders. Lead and develop a high-performing R2R team.
- Challenge existing processes and introduce best-in-class practices.

Fully qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
- 12–18+ years of experience in Record-to-Report / Financial Accounting roles.
- Experience working within the insurance industry.
- Experience in shared services or global captive environments.
- Strong experience managing multi-entity, multi-currency environments.
- Proven track record of working with UK and US stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of IFRS and US GAAP
- Desirable: Knowledge of UK and US insurance accounting practices and terminology
- Desirable Understanding of US and UK tax regulations and reporting requirements
- Knowledge of financial accounting, process, and systems.
