Senior ServiceNow SAM Pro Consultant / SAM Solution Architect

SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Senior ServiceNow SAM Pro Consultant / SAM Solution Architect to lead Software Asset Management (SAM) initiatives and deliver enterprise-scale ServiceNow ITAM solutions. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in ServiceNow SAM Pro, software licensing, compliance management, and data integration architecture, with strong hands-on experience in Microsoft and Oracle licensing.
This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing SAM solutions that help organizations manage software assets, maintain license compliance, reduce software spend, and improve operational efficiency.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
· 7+ years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), or related domains. Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro.
· Experience with ServiceNow ITAM Suite, CMDB, and Asset Management modules. Deep expertise in Microsoft & Oracle Licensing.
· Experience performing license compliance assessments and ELP analysis. Strong understanding of software lifecycle management.
· Experience designing enterprise-scale SAM solutions. Expertise in data architecture and integration design.
· Knowledge of software normalization and reconciliation processes.
CERTIFICATIONS
· ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – IT Asset Management (CIS-ITAM) – Mandatory. Additional ServiceNow certifications are highly desirable.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead end-to-end implementation and optimization of ServiceNow Software Asset Management Professional (SAM Pro). Design scalable and sustainable SAM architectures aligned with business and compliance requirements.
· Support the team in improving SAM processes, as well as defining clear roles and responsibilities (e.g., RACI) across IT. Ensure relevant data is captured in line with SAM objectives, compliance needs, and optimization goals.
· Configure and customize ServiceNow ITAM and SAM Pro modules. Develop and maintain software normalization, reconciliation, and compliance processes. Implement software entitlement management and license optimization strategies.
· Deep expertise in Microsoft and Oracle licensing models, including their metrics, rules, and recent evolutions. Act as a subject matter expert for Microsoft and Oracle licensing models. Analyze software consumption and licensing positions to identify compliance risks and cost-saving opportunities. Conduct Effective License Position (ELP) assessments. Support internal audits and vendor audits related to software licensing. Provide recommendations for software optimization and license rationalization.
· Ensure accurate software and hardware asset data within CMDB and ITAM repositories. Define and implement data governance standards for asset and licensing data. Drive data quality initiatives and establish processes for continuous improvement.
· Design and implement integrations between ServiceNow and discovery, procurement, ERP, and software inventory tools. Define data architecture strategies for software asset lifecycle management. Support data ingestion, transformation, normalization, and reconciliation processes. Collaborate with technical teams to establish scalable integration frameworks.
· Guide the team in identifying the relevant data points to capture within ServiceNow SAM Pro and advise on how to adapt to the continuous evolution of these licensing models. Define configuration requirements for SAM Pro and validate implementation through testing, ensuring that the required data is accurately captured, available, and reliable for license management.
· Work closely with business stakeholders, asset managers, procurement teams, and IT leadership. Conduct workshops and gather business requirements. Provide strategic consulting on software asset management best practices. Mentor junior consultants and support solution delivery teams.
· Coach and upskill the team on identifying optimization opportunities and translating licensing knowledge into actionable cost-saving measures. Ensure that interfaces and data connector deliver what is expected and help team to define requirement, manage integrations teams and ensure quality.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience with ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping. Experience integrating ServiceNow with procurement and inventory management tools. Knowledge of SaaS license management and cloud software licensing. Experience working with global software compliance programs and audits. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
NICE TO HAVEExperience with Flexera, Snow Software, or other SAM tools. Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization practices. Experience in large-scale digital transformation or ITA
Pay: ₹450,491.33 - ₹1,718,642.12 per year
