Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant with strong knowledge of Indian accounting practices, GST compliance, bookkeeping, and Zoho Books. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring tax compliance, and supporting financial reporting.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, has excellent attention to detail, and is comfortable handling end-to-end accounting functions for a growing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities.
- Record and maintain financial transactions in Zoho Books.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Perform bank, vendor, and customer reconciliations.
- Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.).
- Conduct GST reconciliations and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Manage TDS calculations, deductions, and return filings.
- Generate monthly financial reports, including Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up as required.
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with audits, financial reviews, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Support management with MIS reports and financial insights.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping.
- Strong understanding of Indian accounting principles and taxation.
- Hands-on experience with GST filings and compliance.
- Proficiency in Zoho Books (mandatory).
- Working knowledge of TDS and statutory compliance requirements.
- Strong Excel skills, including reporting and reconciliations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Tally Prime or other accounting software.
- CA Inter, CMA, M.Com, or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working with startups, SMEs, or accounting firms.
