Job Summary
The Pharmacist Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy department, ensuring safe, effective, and compliant medication management practices. The role includes inventory control, staff supervision, regulatory compliance, and implementation of NABH standards to support quality patient care and accreditation requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Pharmacy Operations
- Manage and supervise all pharmacy activities, including dispensing, procurement, storage, and distribution of medicines.
- Ensure accurate dispensing of medications in accordance with physician prescriptions and hospital policies.
- Monitor medication usage and optimize inventory levels to prevent stock-outs and wastage.
- Coordinate with clinical departments to ensure timely availability of medicines.
NABH Compliance
- Implement and maintain NABH standards related to pharmacy services.
- Ensure compliance with medication management policies, documentation, storage requirements, and quality indicators.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain accreditation standards.
- Prepare and maintain records required for NABH assessments and surveillance audits.
- Train pharmacy staff on NABH guidelines, quality initiatives, and patient safety practices.
Inventory & Procurement Management
- Oversee procurement of pharmaceuticals and medical consumables from approved vendors.
- Monitor expiry dates, batch tracking, and recall procedures.
- Ensure proper storage conditions, including temperature-sensitive medications.
- Manage controlled drugs and maintain statutory records as per regulations.
Team Leadership
- Supervise pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff.
- Prepare duty rosters and ensure adequate staffing.
- Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Quality & Patient Safety
- Ensure adherence to medication safety protocols.
- Investigate medication errors and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in hospital quality improvement programs and committees.
- Promote rational drug use and pharmacovigilance activities.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Pharmacy Act, Drugs and Cosmetics Act, and other applicable regulations.
- Maintain valid licenses and statutory records.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities during inspections and audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm).
- Registered Pharmacist with State Pharmacy Council.
- Certification or training in NABH standards is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of pharmacy experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Experience in hospital pharmacy operations and NABH accreditation processes is preferred.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
