Key Responsibilities
- Insurance Verification: Verify coverage, deductibles, and co-pays prior to or during a patient's admission.
- Patient Education: Clearly explain complicated medical bills, out-of-pocket estimates, and hospital billing policies.
- Financial Assistance Screening: Identify eligible patients for government programs (e.g., Medicaid) or hospital charity care policies and assist them with the application process.
- Payment Arrangements: Set up payment plans, process upfront deposits, and manage sliding fee scale applications.
- Liaison Duties: Act as a bridge between the patient, the clinical team, and third-party insurance providers.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Typically requires a High School Diploma; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or Finance is often preferred.
- Experience: 1 to 3 years in healthcare billing, patient registration, or a medical financial setting.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with ICD-10 coding, medical terminology, and insurance verification software.
- Soft Skills: High emotional intelligence, empathy, excellent negotiation skills, and strong customer service.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
