Job Summary : We are looking for an experienced Purchase Engineer to manage the procurement of bought-out components required for manufacturing Industrial Cleaning Systems and Special Purpose Machines (SPMs). The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of industrial components, supplier management, commercial negotiations, and procurement planning to ensure timely availability of quality materials at competitive prices.
Key Responsibilities :
- Procure bought-out mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation components as per BOM and production requirements.
- Source quotations from multiple suppliers, prepare comparative statements, and recommend the best commercial option.
- Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, payment terms, and commercial conditions with suppliers.
- Release Purchase Orders (POs) through the ERP system and ensure timely order processing.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and avoid production delays.
- Develop new vendors and evaluate existing suppliers based on quality, delivery, cost, and service.
- Coordinate with Design, Production, Projects, Stores, Quality, and Accounts departments for procurement planning.
- Resolve supplier quality issues, shortages, and delivery delays.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through alternate sourcing and value engineering.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, vendor databases, and purchase documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
Required Skills :
- Strong knowledge of engineering bought-out components.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Vendor development and supplier evaluation experience.
- Strong negotiation and commercial skills.
- Good understanding of procurement planning and inventory control.
- Working knowledge of ERP software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and analytical skills.
Experience :
- 3–6 years of experience in engineering procurement within a manufacturing company.
- Experience in SPM, Industrial Automation, Industrial Cleaning Equipment, Material Handling Equipment, or Capital Equipment Manufacturing is preferred.
