About the Role
We're looking for a hybrid Shopify Product Manager & Developer who can own the store end-to-end from technical builds to conversion optimization. This role sits at the intersection of product thinking, development, and growth. You'll be responsible for how the store performs, converts, and evolves.
Key Responsibilities
- Own Shopify store architecture, theme customization, and app ecosystem (Liquid, OS 2.0, metafields, app blocks, checkout extensibility)
- Map and optimize the customer journey landing to checkout identifying drop-off points and friction
- Drive Website CRO: run A/B tests, optimize PDPs/collection pages/checkout flow, improve conversion rate month-on-month
- Set up and manage customer engagement/analytics tools like CleverTap (or similar: MoEngage, WebEngage) for behavioral tracking, segmentation, and automated flows (cart abandonment, win-back, etc.)
- Collaborate with the marketing team on landing page builds, UTM tracking, and pixel/tag implementation to support performance marketing campaigns (Meta/Google Ads)
- Monitor site speed, mobile responsiveness, and technical health of the store
- Work with logistics/ops data (RTO, COD trends) to inform PDP and checkout UX decisions
- Prioritize and manage a product roadmap for store features/improvements
- Coordinate with designers, developers, and vendors/agencies as needed
Must-Have Skills
- Strong hands-on Shopify development experience (Liquid, Shopify OS 2.0, theme customization)
- Solid understanding of conversion rate optimization principles and frameworks
- Working knowledge of customer journey mapping and funnel analysis
- Experience with CleverTap or similar customer engagement platforms
- Basic understanding of performance marketing (Meta Ads/Google Ads) enough to collaborate effectively with marketing, not run campaigns independently
- Familiarity with GA4, Shopify Analytics, or similar tools
- Understanding of D2C-specific challenges: COD, RTO, NDR, checkout drop-offs
Good to Have
- Experience with tools like Hotjar/Clarity for behavior analysis
- Basic understanding of Meta Pixel/Google Tag Manager setup
- Exposure to religious/spiritual, gifting, or lifestyle D2C categories
