1. Business Development & Lead Generation
- Identify and approach potential B2B customers requiring machining, fabrication, castings, gearboxes and industrial components.
- Develop a database of prospective customers across relevant industries such as engineering, manufacturing, automotive, infrastructure, construction, power, agriculture and industrial equipment.
- Generate leads through cold calling, field visits, references, industry networks, exhibitions and online research.
- Regularly visit existing and prospective customers to understand their requirements and develop business opportunities.
- Identify opportunities for repeat orders and long-term supply arrangements.
2. Customer & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with purchase, production, maintenance, engineering and management teams at customer organisations.
- Understand customer requirements, specifications, drawings, quantities, delivery schedules and quality expectations.
- Maintain regular follow-ups with customers from enquiry stage through order confirmation and delivery.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers and ensure timely communication.
3. Enquiry & Quotation Management
- Receive and understand customer enquiries for machining, fabrication, castings, gearboxes and related products.
- Coordinate with the production/technical team to assess technical feasibility, costing, capacity and delivery timelines.
- Prepare and submit quotations to customers in coordination with the management/technical team.
- Follow up systematically on quotations and convert enquiries into confirmed orders.
- Maintain an updated record of enquiries, quotations, follow-ups and order status.
4. Order Conversion & Sales Achievement
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets assigned by the management.
- Develop a healthy sales pipeline to ensure consistent flow of enquiries and orders.
- Negotiate with customers within approved commercial guidelines.
- Track the complete sales cycle from lead → enquiry → quotation → negotiation → order → delivery → repeat business.
- Identify reasons for lost orders and work towards improving conversion rates.
5. Market Development
- Research competitors, market pricing, customer requirements and emerging opportunities.
- Identify new industries and geographic markets where the company's manufacturing capabilities can be utilised.
- Track competitor activities and provide relevant market intelligence to management.
- Identify potential OEMs, engineering companies, contractors, dealers and industrial buyers.
6. Coordination with Internal Teams
- Coordinate closely with production, quality, stores, purchase, dispatch and accounts teams to ensure customer commitments are met.
- Communicate customer specifications and delivery requirements accurately to the concerned departments.
- Follow up internally on order progress and proactively communicate delays or issues to customers.
- Support resolution of customer complaints and ensure timely closure.
7. Customer Retention & Repeat Business
- Maintain regular contact with existing customers and identify opportunities for additional business.
- Develop long-term relationships rather than focusing only on one-time orders.
- Understand customers' recurring requirements and work towards securing repeat and scheduled orders.
- Seek customer feedback regarding quality, pricing, delivery and service.
