Job Description – Systems Engineer
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to manage, maintain, secure, and optimise our production and staging infrastructure across OVH Cloud and AWS environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for Linux server administration, application deployments, containerised workloads, CI/CD pipelines, networking, monitoring, databases, and production support while working closely with the development team to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable systems.
Linux Systems Administration
· Administer and maintain Linux servers across production and staging environments.
· Monitor and optimise CPU, memory, disk, swap, and network performance.
· Troubleshoot operating system and application-level issues.
· Analyse system logs to diagnose and resolve incidents.
· Configure and maintain system services using systemd.
· Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and performance tuning.
Application Deployment & Operations
· Deploy and manage frontend and backend applications across multiple environments.
· Support applications built using React, Next.js, Node.js, NestJS, Nuxt.js, and related technologies.
· Coordinate application deployments with development teams.
· Manage environment variables and deployment configurations.
· Execute application upgrades, rollbacks, restarts, and post-deployment validation.
· Troubleshoot deployment, configuration, dependency, and runtime issues.
Containerisation & Docker Management
· Build and maintain Docker images and Dockerfiles.
· Configure and manage Docker Compose for multi-container applications.
· Deploy and maintain application, Redis, database, and supporting service containers.
· Manage Docker networking, volumes, health checks, restart policies, and resource allocation.
· Monitor container performance and troubleshoot build, networking, storage, and runtime issues.
CI/CD & Automation
· Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
· Configure and manage self-hosted GitHub runners.
· Automate build, deployment, testing, and release workflows.
· Manage Git repositories, branching strategies, and deployment processes.
· Troubleshoot CI/CD failures.
Web Server & Reverse Proxy Management
· Configure and maintain Nginx as a reverse proxy.
· Manage routing, upstream services, redirects and proxy configurations.
· Troubleshoot routing, timeout and connectivity issues.
DNS, Domains & SSL Management
· Configure DNS records for domains and subdomains.
· Manage SSL/TLS certificates using Let's Encrypt and Certbot.
· Work with Cloudflare and other DNS/CDN providers.
Infrastructure Monitoring & Observability
· Maintain monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, Node Exporter, Process Exporter and Blackbox Exporter.
· Monitor infrastructure health and configure alerts.
· Perform root cause analysis and capacity planning.
Database Administration
· Deploy and manage PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases.
· Perform backups, restoration and migrations.
· Troubleshoot database performance and connectivity.
Cloud Infrastructure Management
· Manage Linux infrastructure across OVH Cloud and AWS.
· Configure compute, storage, networking, firewalls and DNS.
· Support infrastructure provisioning and migrations.
Networking & Connectivity
· Configure and troubleshoot networking, firewalls, DNS and reverse proxies.
· Diagnose connectivity issues using Linux networking tools.
Production Support & Incident Management
· Respond to production incidents and restore services.
· Analyse logs and implement corrective actions.
· Collaborate with developers to resolve application issues.
Security & Access Management
· Manage Linux users, SSH access and firewall rules.
· Maintain secure production environments and secrets.
Backup & Disaster Recovery
· Maintain backups for applications, databases and configurations.
· Support disaster recovery and restoration.
Cross-functional Collaboration
· Support developers with infrastructure, deployments and troubleshooting.
· Continuously improve reliability and operational efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
· 2–5 years of experience in Linux systems administration, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering.
· Experience managing production workloads on AWS and OVH Cloud.
· Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Overall Responsibility
Ensure production and staging infrastructure remains secure, highly available, scalable, monitored, and deployment-ready while supporting development teams with Linux administration, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, containerisation, networking, databases, monitoring, and production troubleshooting.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
