Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor and manage mechanical parts, tools, equipment, and consumables inventory to ensure adequate stock levels and minimize shortages.
- Perform regular stock checks (including cycle counts) and reconcile physical stock with system records.
- Ensure that inventory records are updated accurately and in a timely manner.
- Receiving and Issuing of Materials:
- Receive mechanical materials and equipment, ensuring that the right quantity and quality are received in accordance with purchase orders.
- Issue materials, tools, and parts as per departmental requests, ensuring the correct items are issued to the right personnel or departments.
- Verify condition of goods upon receipt and report discrepancies or damage to the relevant departments.
- Store Organization and Safety:
- Organize mechanical stores to ensure a safe and tidy working environment, ensuring the safe storage of parts and tools.
- Adhere to safety procedures and ensure the proper storage of hazardous materials, following all safety standards.
- Ensure that stock is labeled properly, and ensure easy accessibility to high-demand items.
- Stock Replenishment:
- Monitor usage trends and advise on stock replenishment to avoid delays in production or maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with procurement or purchasing departments to reorder stock in advance to meet operational requirements.
- Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of all materials received, issued, and transferred.
- Prepare inventory reports, and assist in audits by providing required documentation and supporting information.
- Maintain a record of equipment maintenance and servicing schedules as required.
- Coordination with Other Departments:
- Work closely with the procurement, maintenance, and production teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Support mechanical technicians and engineers in identifying and procuring necessary parts and tools for repairs and projects.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure the proper inspection and quality check of mechanical parts before storing and issuing.
- Report defective or damaged items to management or the supplier, and ensure that non-conforming items are segregated.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations regarding materials handling and storage.
- Follow environmental and safety regulations related to the storage of mechanical parts and tools.
