We are looking for an experienced Senior Automation QA Engineer (Playwright) to join our Quality Engineering team. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of robust test automation solutions using Playwright while driving quality best practices across large-scale applications. You will collaborate closely with global engineering teams, contribute to automation strategy, and integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test suites using Playwright.
Act as a Test Automation Specialist, simplifying and enhancing the existing Quality Engineering automation framework.
Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
Collaborate with QA and Test Automation engineers to drive automation success across projects.
Follow established scripting standards and automation governance processes.
Prepare automation roadmaps, progress reports, and quality metrics by analyzing project data.
Identify opportunities to improve automation frameworks, testing strategies, and engineering processes.
Perform API automation testing, including GraphQL APIs.
Work closely with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders to deliver strategic automation solutions.
Support root cause analysis, defect investigation, and continuous quality improvements.
Mentor team members and promote automation best practices across the organization.
Skills & Experience
Minimum 6+ years of experience in web test automation.
At least 2+ years of hands-on experience with Playwright.
Strong programming knowledge in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
Experience with AI-assisted development and automation tools such as Codex, Claude, or similar.
Hands-on experience testing large-scale applications with multiple interconnected subsystems.
Strong understanding of Version Control Systems, including Git, Bitbucket, branching strategies, and pull request workflows.
Experience with API automation testing, preferably GraphQL.
Deep understanding of Quality Engineering fundamentals, including:
Test case design and analysis
Defect lifecycle management
Root cause analysis
Test strategy development
Experience implementing and maintaining automation within CI/CD pipelines.
Experience working directly with clients and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
A proactive mindset with the ability to challenge existing processes and recommend improvements.
Team-oriented, culturally aware, empathetic, and comfortable working in global environments.
Working Hours
Candidates must be available to overlap with the US Eastern Time (ET) working window of 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, which corresponds to approximately 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM IST during daylight saving time, to ensure effective collaboration with the US engineering teams.
