VPMM Group of Institutions is looking for an experienced and passionate Professor in Fashion Technology to join our dynamic academic team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of fashion design, technology, and business, and a commitment to providing high-quality education in fashion technology to students aspiring to excel in the fashion industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Learning:
- Deliver lectures, practical sessions, and workshops in Fashion Technology-related subjects such as Fashion Design, Textile Science, Apparel Manufacturing, Fashion Merchandising, Pattern Making, and Fashion Forecasting.
- Develop course materials, syllabi, lesson plans, and assignments tailored to industry requirements and current trends.
- Foster a creative, student-centered learning environment that encourages innovation, practical skill development, and critical thinking.
- Evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, projects, and practical assessments, and provide constructive feedback.
Curriculum Development:
- Contribute to the development, review, and enhancement of the Fashion Technology curriculum to ensure it aligns with industry standards and emerging trends.
- Regularly update course content to incorporate the latest technological advancements in fashion design, textile production, and fashion marketing.
Research & Development:
- Engage in research in areas related to Fashion Technology, including textile innovation, sustainable fashion, fashion design, and emerging fashion trends.
- Publish research in academic and industry journals and participate in conferences, exhibitions, and seminars.
- Stay updated with the latest trends in fashion technology and integrate this knowledge into the academic curriculum.
Industry Collaboration & Student Engagement:
- Establish strong relationships with fashion designers, textile manufacturers, retailers, and other fashion industry professionals to facilitate guest lectures, internships, industry visits, and placement opportunities for students.
- Guide students in the creation of portfolios, projects, and fashion shows, providing mentorship in their creative and academic development.
- Organize events like fashion shows, exhibitions, and workshops that showcase student work and foster industry engagement.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Participate in departmental meetings, academic committees, and other institutional initiatives.
- Assist with student admissions, academic assessments, and other administrative duties related to the Fashion Technology department.
- Support the department in accreditation, audits, and continuous improvement processes.
Professional Development:
- Engage in continuous professional development by attending workshops, conferences, and training programs relevant to fashion technology, design, and industry innovations.
- Contribute to institutional development through involvement in research, curriculum development, and faculty development programs.
