OVERVIEW
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Java Developer to join our growing team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs that power our fintech platform. The ideal candidate is hands-on with Spring Boot, comfortable working in cloud-native environments, and eager to work with modern architectures including microservices and event-driven systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build and optimize microservices architecture for scalability and performance.
- Work with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) to manage data storage and retrieval efficiently.
- Implement and maintain event-driven systems using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar message brokers.
- Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms (AWS or GCP), including compute, storage, and serverless services.
- Containerize applications using Docker and work with orchestration tools as needed.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0 and SSO solutions.
- Write clean, testable code with unit and integration tests (JUnit, Mockito).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend, mobile, and product to deliver seamless solutions.
- Follow SDLC best practices, conduct code reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- 1.5+ years of professional experience in Java backend development.
- Strong proficiency in Java with deep understanding of OOP, Collections, Exception Handling, and Multithreading.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot for building production-grade REST APIs and microservices.
- Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles and GraphQL.
- Experience with relational databases: MySQL and/or PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ for event-driven architecture.
- Experience with cloud platforms — AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, SQS) or GCP (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL).
- Working knowledge of Docker for containerization.
- Experience with build tools: Gradle or Maven.
- Knowledge of OAuth 2.0 and SSO-based authentication.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and code quality.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with event-driven / event-push architecture patterns (CQRS, Event Sourcing).
- Exposure to AI/ML integrations or LLM APIs (OpenAI, Gemini, etc.) within backend services — a strong plus.
- Hands-on experience with GCP-specific services (Firestore, BigQuery, Cloud Functions).
- Understanding of UML, sequence, and system architecture diagrams.
- Experience in the fintech domain — payments, lending, or capital markets.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
