Key Responsibilities
Design & Modeling:
Develop detailed 3D models, assembly drawings, fabrication layouts, and Bills of Materials (BOM) using software like SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Design heavy hydro-mechanical equipment (gates, hoists, trash racks, valves) and electro-mechanical systems (turbine components, rotating equipment, auxiliary systems).
Core Engineering & Design Calculations:
Perform comprehensive mechanical design calculations, including load calculations, stress analysis (shear, compressive, tensile, etc.), bending moments, and moment of inertia for static and rotating equipment.
Establish precise limits, fits, and tolerances to ensure parts meet strict manufacturing and assembly requirements.
Standards & Compliance:
Apply thorough knowledge of Indian Standards (IS codes) relevant to hydropower equipment, structural steel fabrication, and material selection.
Ensure all engineering outputs adhere to quality, safety, and operational guidelines.
Project & Shop-Floor Coordination:
Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to resolve technical queries during manufacturing and fabrication.
Provide engineering support to site project managers during the installation, alignment, and commissioning phases.
