- A Biomedical Service Engineer installs, maintains, calibrates, and repairs medical equipment in hospitals or clinics.
- They troubleshoot device malfunctions, minimize downtime, ensure regulatory safety compliance, and train healthcare staff on proper device operation to support optimal patient care.
- Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Commissioning: Set up, test, and calibrate new diagnostic, therapeutic, or monitoring equipment at client or hospital sites.
- Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine preventive maintenance and rapid corrective repairs to resolve hardware or software malfunctions.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all medical devices comply with local and international healthcare safety standards (such as NABH or ISO).S
- Staff Training: Guide doctors, nurses, and clinical operators on the correct usage and routine functional checks of medical machinery.
- Documentation: Keep precise logs of service histories, repairs, inventory parts, and calibration reports.
