Job Description: Tool Room In-Charge & Assembly Lead
Location: Bengaluru – Peenya Industrial Area
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Tool Room In-Charge & Assembly Lead to oversee manufacturing, machining coordination, process planning, and machine assembly activities for Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) and Industrial Automation Systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in manufacturing drawings, precision machining processes, vendor management, and machine build activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Study and interpret 2D manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, GD&T, tolerances, fits, and machining dimensions.
- Plan and coordinate manufacturing activities involving CNC, VMC, Wire Cut, EDM, Surface Grinding, Lathe, Milling, and Fabrication processes.
- Manage internal tool room operations and coordinate with external machining vendors.
- Develop manufacturing sequences, machining plans, material selection, and assembly workflows.
- Monitor dimensional accuracy, machining quality, alignments, and fitment during production and assembly.
- Lead assembly, debugging, and prove-out activities for:
- Leak & Flow Testing Machines
- Special Purpose Machines (SPMs)
- Conveyor Systems
- Vision Inspection Systems
- Custom Automation Machines
- Collaborate with Design, Electrical, and Pneumatic teams during machine build projects.
- Support machine trials, customer inspections, dispatch activities, installation, and commissioning.
- Supervise shop-floor technicians and ensure quality, productivity, and adherence to project timelines.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or BE in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Tool Room, SPM Manufacturing, Industrial Automation, or Machine Building industries.
- Strong knowledge of:
- 2D drawing interpretation
- GD&T and tolerances
- Manufacturing process planning
- Precision machine assembly
- Hands-on experience with CNC, VMC, Wire Cut, EDM, Grinding, and Fabrication processes.
- Experience working in MSME/manufacturing environments preferred.
- Knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic components from brands such as:
- HIWIN
- THK
- Festo
- SMC
- MISUMI
- Pneumax
- Good troubleshooting, leadership, communication, and team-handling skills.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in machine-building or automation manufacturing industries.
- Ability to independently manage manufacturing and assembly activities.
- Strong vendor coordination and shop-floor leadership capabilities.
- Exposure to customer inspections, machine trials, and commissioning support.
This role is ideal for a hands-on mechanical professional who can bridge manufacturing, assembly, and project execution in an industrial automation environment.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
