Job Title: Piping Designer (with AutoPlant Admin Capabilities)

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Piping Designer who has solid hands-on experience in piping design along with administration and management of Bentley AutoPlant. The role is a mix of preparing piping design deliverables and handling AutoPlant project setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The selected candidate will be expected to support the project teams by ensuring accuracy of design, smooth functioning of 3D models, and timely generation of deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop piping layouts, isometrics, and MTOs in accordance with project specifications.
- Create and update 3D piping models in Bentley AutoPlant and ensure model integrity.
- Administer AutoPlant environment, including:
- Project setup and database configuration.
- Creation, customization, and management of piping specifications and catalogs.
- Maintenance of symbol libraries and isometric styles.
- Troubleshooting software-related and model-related issues for project teams.
- Extract drawings, isometrics, and reports from AutoPlant with accuracy.
- Support clash detection reviews and resolve interface issues across disciplines.
- Ensure proper version control, data consistency, and backup for AutoPlant projects.
- Collaborate closely with piping engineers, process, structural, and mechanical teams for integrated model development.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior designers for effective use of AutoPlant tools.
- Assist in maintaining standards, workflows, and best practices for AutoPlant-based projects.
Desired Skills & Competencies
- Experience with AVEVA E3D/PDMS or SmartPlant 3D is a significant plus.
- Strong knowledge of piping design, layout development, and detailing practices.
- Proficiency in AutoPlant 3D, Isogen, and related Bentley tools.
- Hands-on experience with AutoPlant administration – project setup, specs/catalog customization, report generation, database management.
- Familiarity with international piping codes and standards (ASME, API, ISO).
- Good understanding of piping materials, corrosion allowance, and general engineering practices.
- Effective communicator with ability to support multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Capability to maintain high quality of deliverables under schedule constraints.
Qualifications
- Diploma / ITI in Mechanical Engineering (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
