Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Site Carpenter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, repairing, and finishing various wooden and structural elements for outdoor and building projects. This role requires hands-on experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently on construction sites while maintaining high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, and other construction materials.
- Install outdoor structures such as pergolas, decks, fences, gazebos, seating areas, and other landscape features.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
- Build and install formwork, frameworks, and structural components as required.
- Repair or replace damaged wooden structures and fixtures.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely and effectively.
- Collaborate with site supervisors, project managers, and other tradespeople to complete projects on schedule.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and complies with safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly store tools and materials.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Carpenter in construction, landscaping, outdoor living spaces, or related projects.
- Ability to read technical drawings and construction plans.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license (preferred).
- Relevant trade certification or vocational training is an advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Experience building decks, pergolas, outdoor kitchens, fences, or landscape structures.
- Knowledge of concrete formwork and framing.
- Familiarity with construction site safety procedures.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
