Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchase Engineer with 2–5 years of experience in procurement within the electrical contracting industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling end-to-end procurement activities related to electrical materials, equipment, and services required for various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Planning & Sourcing:
- Identify and evaluate reliable suppliers and vendors for electrical materials (e.g., cables, panels, transformers, switchgear, etc.).
- Collect quotations, prepare comparative statements, and finalize vendors based on price, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Purchase Order Management:
- Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) as per project requirements.
- Follow up with vendors for timely material delivery and ensure adherence to specifications.
- Vendor Management:
- Maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Periodic vendor evaluation and performance tracking.
- Cost Control & Budgeting:
- Negotiate rates and payment terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchases.
- Work closely with the project and estimation team to ensure purchases align with the BOQ and budget.
- Inventory & Documentation:
- Coordinate with store/site teams for delivery follow-ups and material receipt.
- Maintain proper records of purchases, POs, and delivery notes.
- Coordination & Communication:
- Liaise with site engineers, project managers, and the accounts team for smooth material flow.
- Address and resolve material discrepancies or quality issues.
- Compliance & Quality:
- Ensure all purchases comply with company standards and project-specific quality requirements.
- Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Diplo/B.E./B.Techch in Electrical Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in purchase/procurement in an electricacontracting/EPC// MEP company.
- Knowledge of electrical items & market rates.
- Good negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
