We are looking for a Vice President, Business Data Architecture who is passionate about building robust, scalable, and efficient data solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ETL development , Snowflake , and modern cloud-based data platforms , along with understanding in Power BI for analytics and reporting. This role demands a solid understanding of data engineering principles , ETL concepts , and financial domain knowledge .
As an individual contributor, you will be responsible for designing and implementing end-to-end data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and enabling actionable insights for business stakeholders. Strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL workflows for ingestion, transformation, and integration.
Build and optimize solutions on Snowflake and other cloud data platforms .
Leverage ETL tools such as Informatica , Pentaho , or Azure Data Factory (ADF) to deliver scalable data solutions.
Implement best practices for data modeling , performance tuning , and data governance .
Develop and manage Power BI dashboards and reports to support business intelligence initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions aligned with business goals.
Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards for financial data.
Drive projects independently, managing timelines and quality expectations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as a Data Engineer with strong knowledge of ETL concepts , data warehousing , and data architecture .
Experience with Python and SQL for automation and advanced data processing.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines , DevOps , and data orchestration frameworks .
Hands-on experience with Snowflake and at least one ETL tool ( Informatica , Pentaho , or ADF ).
Familiarity with cloud database technologies and modern data engineering practices.
Understanding of Power BI and BI platform infrastructure.
Strong understanding of financial domain concepts .
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Self-driven, motivated, and capable of delivering high-quality solutions independently.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Certifications in Cloud Data Platforms or Snowflake are a strong plus.
6 – 8 years of experience as Data Engineer.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $127,000 and $240,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors
