Position: Trained Graduate Teacher – Mathematics Grade/Level: Typically Classes VI–X (Middle & Secondary) Board:CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education)
Job Summary Teach Mathematics to middle and secondary school students (Classes VI–X) as per the CBSE curriculum, ensuring strong conceptual foundations, exam readiness for Board exams (Class X), and alignment with NEP 2020 and NCF guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Mathematics as per CBSE syllabus and NCERT textbooks for assigned classes (VI–X)
- Prepare lesson plans, unit tests, and periodic assessments in line with CBSE's Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE)/current assessment scheme
- Prepare Class X students for CBSE Board Examinations (theory + internal assessment components)
- Set question papers, invigilate, and evaluate answer scripts for unit tests, half-yearly, and annual exams
- Maintain student records, mark sheets, and progress reports as per CBSE norms
- Conduct remedial classes for weak students and enrichment sessions for advanced learners
- Participate in CBSE-mandated activities: CWSN (Children with Special Needs) support, Art Integrated Learning, Experiential Learning, and Competency-Based Education as per NEP 2020
- Attend CBSE workshops, in-service training, and school staff development programs
- Coordinate with subject coordinators/HOD for syllabus completion and curriculum planning
- Support students in Olympiads, NTSE, and other maths competitions (if applicable)
- Maintain classroom discipline and a supportive learning environment
- Liaise with parents during PTMs regarding student performance
Eligibility Criteria (as per CBSE/CTET norms)
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor's Degree with Mathematics as a subject (minimum 50% marks), plus B.Ed. from a recognized institution
- Mandatory Qualifying Exam: CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) Paper II or equivalent State TET, as applicable
- Experience: Freshers may apply; 2+ years' teaching experience in a CBSE school preferred
- Age Limit: As per individual school/state government norms (if government-aided)
Desired Skills
- Strong command over Mathematics up to Class X level (Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, Mensuration)
- Familiarity with NCERT textbooks and CBSE marking schemes/sample papers
- Ability to use ICT tools, smart boards, and digital content for teaching
- Good communication skills (English/Hindi as per school medium)
- Patience and adaptability for handling diverse learners
