Role: QA Engineer
Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer with experience testing cloud-based platforms, to own quality
across our sprint cycles. The ideal candidate translates requirements and impact assessments into clear test plans,
communicates defects with precision, and works closely with developers to drive issues to resolution. This role
also requires a strong inclination toward test automation using Python and Playwright.
Key Responsibilities
1. Test Planning & Requirements Analysis
• Review requirements and impact assessment documents, and convert them into detailed, well-structured test
plans and test cases.
• Identify test scenarios covering functional, regression, edge-case, and impact areas arising from changes.
• Apply cloud product testing experience to validate functionality across environments and integrations.
2. Defect Management & Communication
• Log and track bugs with meticulous detail, ensuring reproducibility and clarity for developers.
• Describe defects clearly using screenshots, screen recordings, and step-by-step notes to demonstrate issues
unambiguously.
• Follow up proactively with developers, walk them through defects, and collaborate on fixes rather than
simply logging and waiting.
• Communicate with clarity and precision, leaving no room for ambiguity in bug reports or discussions.
3. Sprint & Process Ownership
• Run and lead QA sprint calls, walking the team through open issues, resubmitted defects, and outstanding
items.
• Track the status of defects across the bug lifecycle, from identification to verification and closure.
• Coordinate with developers and product stakeholders to ensure quality gates are met within each sprint.
4. Testing Requirements - Automation & Manual
• Contribute to and grow automated test coverage using Python and Playwright.
• API testing (REST, JSON, Using Postman, etc.)
• Experience generating test/synthetic data
• Identify manual test cases suitable for automation and help build a sustainable automation framework over
time.
• Experience with load testing tools like JMeter
• Understanding authentication, authorisation, RBAC and security is a plus.
5. AWS Cloud experience
• AWS Cloud platform knowledge (EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, CFT. These are some of the services
they would use regularly. Knowledge of testing CloudFormation (CFT) will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of AWS Cloud service costs is an advantage.
Required Qualifications
• Proven experience in QA / software testing within a cloud product environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain issues clearly and without
ambiguity.
• Demonstrated ability to convert requirements and impact assessment documents into detailed test plans.
• Strong experience in bug tracking and defect management, including detailed reporting using videos and
images.
• Comfortable running sprint/QA calls and driving discussions on open and resubmitted issues.
• Working knowledge of Python and Playwright for test automation is a MUST.
• A proactive, collaborative approach to working with developers to resolve issues.
