Job Summary
Popular Mega Motors is seeking a skilled and experienced Tinker (Automobile Body Technician) to join our Commercial Vehicle Service Team at Kannur. The ideal candidate will be responsible for repairing damaged vehicle body panels, restoring accident vehicles, and ensuring high-quality bodywork on Tata commercial vehicles. The candidate should be capable of handling body alignment, dent repairs, welding, and panel replacement while maintaining manufacturer quality standards. (Indeed)
Key Responsibilities
- Repair dents, damaged body panels, and accident-related vehicle damage.
- Perform panel replacement, body alignment, cutting, welding, and fabrication work.
- Restore commercial vehicle cabins, doors, bumpers, fenders, and chassis body parts.
- Use body repair tools, hydraulic equipment, and welding machines safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate with painters and service advisors for smooth workflow.
- Inspect repaired vehicles to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain workshop cleanliness and adhere to safety standards.
- Complete assigned jobs within the committed turnaround time.
Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Automobile, Welding, Fabrication, or equivalent.
- Certification in Automobile Body Repair is an added advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience as an Automobile Tinker/Body Technician.
- Experience in commercial vehicle body repair is preferred.
- Knowledge of Tata Commercial Vehicles will be an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Expertise in dent removal, body alignment, welding, and fabrication.
- Ability to read repair estimates and job cards.
- Good knowledge of workshop safety practices.
- Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
