Role Summary
The Junior Architect will support the design and execution of hospital projects by preparing drawings, coordinating with MEP services, and assisting in site supervision. The role requires strong attention to detail, coordination skills, and understanding of hospital planning standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Architectural Design & Drafting
- Prepare architectural drawings (plans, sections, elevations)
- Develop working drawings & detailed layouts
- Assist in hospital space planning (OPD, IPD, ICU, OT, CSSD)
- Update drawings based on client/consultant feedback
- Support BOQ preparation and area calculations
2. Site Execution Support
- Conduct regular site visits
- Verify layout marking & dimensions
- Ensure work is executed as per drawings
- Coordinate with contractors and site engineers
- Identify and report site issues and deviations
3. MEP Coordination
- Coordinate with Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire, MGPS, and IT teams
- Ensure no clashes between architectural & MEP services
- Verify shaft sizes, ceiling heights, and service routes
- Assist in integrated drawing preparation
4. Hospital-Specific Planning
- Assist in planning of:
- ICU layouts (bed spacing, visibility)
- Operation Theatres (sterile zoning, airflow coordination)
- Emergency & patient flow
- CSSD zoning (dirty to sterile flow)
- Ensure compliance with infection control practices
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily/weekly site reports
- Maintain drawing revision logs
- Raise RFIs (Request for Information)
- Prepare snag lists and track closures
- Assist in meeting minutes (MOM)
6. Interior Coordination
- Assist in hospital interior layouts
- Coordinate false ceiling, flooring, and wall finishes
- Ensure alignment with MEP and medical equipment
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (B.Arch)
- 1–3 years of experience (hospital experience preferred)
