Position Requirement:
Working in team, Excellent communication, In-depth technical knowledge of vehicle and its
aggregates & functioning, In-depth knowledge of working of Local Authorities & Technical
services
Hands-on experience with emissions and Engine FTP preparation, instrumentation and
execution for local & export homologation, Interpretation & analysis of results and
consequences.
Well conversant with Homologation process in India and for exports. In depth knowledge of
various testing methodologies & upcoming regulations necessary for emission compliances
Purpose of Position:
Ensuring homologation for domestic and export markets from powertrain / emissions point of view
for all projects. Study & support for powertrain related regulations.
Tasks:
1. Complete planning & execution of the vehicle certification activity for CKD, CBU and Local
products with respect to powertrain related tests including pre-testing. Obtain certificates &
approvals within the stipulated agreed project timelines.
2. Preparation of documentation, drawings & checklists necessary for certification activities.
Negotiations with local authorities, testing laboratories and importers for WCC and timely
execution of tests
3. Liaison with engineering departments for documentation, software related changes, vehicle
preparation etc. Planning and execution of tests in WOB/MB or at any other locations with
authorities as & when desired in consultation with EP department. Planning & execution of pre-
emission tests in consultation with EP.
4. Responsible for interaction with authorities for documents submission, testing, test report
preparation, relevant clearance & correction in documentation to ensure certificates are
delivered within defined timelines.
5. Support all activities related to emissions COP and other in-service compliance requirements.
Keep critical track of all changes in the specifications to analyze impact and ensure necessary
compliance steps. Critical tracking of SW related changes with help of relevant departments
and VW systems like System-42 etc.
6. In co-operation with regulation teams, study & comment on new regulations entered /entering
into force in India/abroad. Analysis, budgeting & planning of testing & certification activities
for compliance all affected models.
7. Responsible to act as Product champion for allocated models to ensure upkeep of all activities
and decisions making to ensure compliance up to date.
8. Study of various Engineering changes, analysis, budgeting & planning of testing & certification
activities for compliance all affected models in coordination with various departments.
9. Prepares regular reporting to superiors. Adhere to departmental process and guidelines.
Upkeep of all documentation, report & certificates in soft form and in physical form.
