A Senior Draughtsman with 5 years of experience is responsible for producing high-quality architectural drawings and coordinating closely with architects, consultants, and site teams. The role involves handling complex projects, ensuring accuracy in detailing, and mentoring junior draughtsmen.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review detailed architectural drawings, including working drawings, GFCs (Good for Construction), and as-built drawings.
- Translate design concepts into precise technical drawings using AutoCAD/Revit.
- Develop detailed plans, elevations, sections, and interior layouts.
- Coordinate with structural, MEP, and site teams to ensure drawing accuracy and integration.
- Ensure all drawings comply with local building regulations and standards.
- Manage revisions and maintain proper version control of drawings.
- Conduct site visits to verify measurements and update drawings accordingly.
- Assist architects in design development and technical problem-solving.
- Supervise and guide junior draughtsmen to maintain drafting quality and efficiency.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit, SketchUp, or other BIM tools is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of construction detailing and architectural standards.
- Ability to interpret and execute complex design requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management and multitasking ability.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering, or Architecture.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an architectural or design firm.
