Position description: The role involves overseeing the mechanical operations and maintenance activities within the Sinter Plant at Jindal Ferrous Limited, a leading company in the Mining & Metals industry. The position requires managing the mechanical engineering functions to ensure optimal plant performance, reliability, and safety. The candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and supervising maintenance schedules, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency. This role demands collaboration with cross-functional teams to support production targets while adhering to industry standards and company policies.
Primary Responsibilities:

Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities for all mechanical equipment in the Sinter Plant to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.

Conduct root cause analysis of mechanical failures and implement effective solutions to prevent recurrence, ensuring reliability of plant machinery.

Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure availability of critical spares and materials required for maintenance activities.

Lead and mentor a team of mechanical technicians and engineers, providing technical guidance and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Collaborate with production and quality departments to optimize plant processes and support achievement of production targets.

Implement and monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations specific to mechanical operations within the plant.

Drive continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing equipment performance, reducing maintenance costs, and increasing plant uptime.

Prepare and maintain detailed maintenance records, reports, and documentation to support audits and management reviews.

Evaluate and recommend upgrades or modifications to mechanical systems and equipment to improve plant productivity and safety.

Participate in budgeting and cost control activities related to mechanical maintenance and capital expenditure projects.
