Experience: Minimum 1–6 Years Hospital Pharmacy Experience
Registration: Valid State Pharmacy Council Registration (Mandatory)
About the Role
We are looking for a qualified and patient-focused Pharmacist to ensure the safe procurement, storage, dispensing, and management of medicines within the hospital pharmacy. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, inventory management, medication safety, and regulatory compliance while delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients and supporting the clinical team.

- 100% accuracy in medication dispensing and labelling

- 100% compliance with pharmacy storage and temperature guidelines
- Maintain minimum stock levels without critical stock-outs
- Minimize medicine expiry through effective inventory management
- 100% compliance with statutory pharmacy regulations and narcotic drug handling
- Timely completion of stock audits, documentation, and reconciliation
Key Responsibilities1. Medication Dispensing & Patient Care
- Dispense medicines accurately with proper labelling and dosage instructions
- Verify prescriptions for completeness, dosage accuracy, and potential drug interactions before dispensing
- Provide patients with clear medication instructions in a language they understand whenever possible
- Educate patients regarding medication usage, storage, dosage schedules, and precautions
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information
2. Inventory & Drug Management
- Maintain optimum inventory levels of medicines and consumables
- Ensure medicines are stored under recommended temperature and storage conditions
- Monitor expiry dates and implement FEFO (First Expiry First Out) practices
- Perform regular stock verification, reconciliation, and drug audits
- Maintain adequate ward and nursing station stock levels
3. Procurement & Vendor Coordination
- Assist in medicine procurement as per approved formulary and consumption patterns
- Coordinate with approved suppliers for timely procurement of medicines
- Support cost optimization through inventory planning and purchase coordination
4. Clinical & Hospital Coordination
- Coordinate with doctors and nursing staff regarding prescriptions, medication availability, substitutions, and drug information
- Maintain and update the hospital drug formulary
- Assist in resolving medication-related queries, complaints, and discrepancies
5. Quality, Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain pharmacy records, dispensing registers, narcotic drug registers, and statutory documentation
- Ensure secure storage and documentation of narcotic and controlled medicines
- Enter medication orders accurately into the Hospital Information System (HIS) / Pharmacy Software
- Participate in NABH quality initiatives, pharmacy audits, and continuous quality improvement activities
- Follow hospital infection control, medication safety, and quality assurance policies

Qualifications & Preferences

Mandatory Requirements:
- Valid State Pharmacy Council Registration
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical storage standards and medication safety
- Experience using Hospital Pharmacy Software / HIS preferred
- Good documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work rotational shifts and emergency duties when required
