We are looking for a Senior Python Backend Developer with strong AWS cloud experience, including hands-on Lambda/serverless work, to design, build, and deploy scalable backend systems. This role also carries a mentorship responsibility — you'll guide and grow junior developers on the team while driving technical decisions.
Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful/GraphQL APIs using Python (Django, Flask, or FastAPI)
- Build, deploy, and maintain serverless applications using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and related AWS services
- Architect and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch, IAM)
- Own the full deployment lifecycle — build, test, deploy, and monitor backend services in production
- Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment (CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins)
-Design and optimize relational and NoSQL database schemas (PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB)
- Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code following best practices (SOLID principles, design patterns)
- Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices (IAM roles, OAuth2, JWT)
-Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, including performance and scalability bottlenecks
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers — conduct code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance
- Help shape team engineering standards, best practices, and onboarding processes
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps teams on architecture and technical planning
- Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and technical design discussions
Required Skills & Qualifications

- 5+ years of professional backend development experience with Python
- Strong experience with at least one Python framework: Django, Flask, or FastAPI
- Hands-on production experience with AWS Lambda and serverless architecture (Serverless Framework, AWS SAM, or CDK)
- Solid working experience with core AWS services: EC2, S3, RDS/DynamoDB, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, CloudWatch, IAM
- Experience building, deploying, and monitoring applications in AWS production environments
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and ORM tools (SQLAlchemy, Django ORM)
- Proficient with Git and collaborative development workflows (PR reviews, branching strategies)
- Experience writing unit/integration tests (pytest, unittest) and following TDD practices
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or CloudFormation is a plus)
- Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles
- Proven experience mentoring or leading junior developers, conducting code reviews, and providing technical guidance
