We are looking for a responsible, creative and technically sound Junior Interior Designer & Site Supervisor who can assist with design development as well as coordinate day-to-day execution at project sites.
The candidate should be comfortable working between the office and project sites, communicating with contractors and labour teams, checking work quality and ensuring that designs are executed correctly.
Key Responsibilities
Design Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate 2D drawings, furniture layouts, elevations and working drawings in AutoCAD.
- Create 3D models and realistic renders using 3ds Max or SketchUp with V-Ray.
- Assist in developing interior design concepts, mood boards, material palettes and presentations.
- Prepare detailed drawings for furniture, false ceilings, flooring, electrical layouts, plumbing and other interior works.
- Revise drawings and designs based on client feedback and site requirements.
- Coordinate design details with vendors, contractors and the project team.
Site Supervision Responsibilities:
- Regularly visit and supervise interior project sites.
- Explain drawings, designs and execution details clearly to contractors, carpenters, electricians, plumbers and other workers.
- Ensure that work is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.
- Check site measurements before preparing drawings or beginning execution.
- Monitor daily progress and provide regular site updates through photographs and reports.
- Maintain records of materials received, issued, used and available at the site.
- Monitor stock levels and inform the project team about material requirements in advance.
- Coordinate material deliveries and verify quantities received at the site.
- Manage contractors and labour teams to maintain work quality and timelines.
- Identify site-related problems and coordinate practical solutions with the senior designer.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials at the site.
- Monitor wastage and help control project costs.
- Coordinate multiple activities at the site to avoid delays or clashes between different teams.
- Maintain basic cleanliness, discipline and safety at the site.
- Prepare snag lists and follow up until all pending work is completed.
Required Software Knowledge
- AutoCAD – Mandatory
- 3ds Max with V-Ray or SketchUp with V-Ray – Mandatory
- Microsoft Excel and Word – Basic working knowledge
- Photoshop or presentation software – Preferred
Required Skills
- Basic technical knowledge of interior execution and construction.
- Understanding of materials, finishes, furniture detailing, electrical work, plumbing, false ceilings and flooring.
- Ability to read and explain architectural and interior drawings.
- Good communication and contractor-coordination skills.
- Ability to handle labour teams firmly and professionally.
- Strong observation and problem-solving skills.
- Good time management and organisational ability.
- Ability to handle pressure, resolve site challenges and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Willingness to learn and take ownership of assigned work.
- Comfortable travelling to different project sites when required.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architecture or a related field.
- Freshers with strong software and technical knowledge may apply.
- Candidates with prior internship or site-supervision experience will be preferred.
- Must have a responsible and professional approach towards work.
- Candidates should preferably have access to a personal laptop.
- Immediate joiners will be preferred.
