Job Title: Head of the Department (HOD) – Sanskrit
Key Responsibilities1. Academic Leadership & Curriculum Management
- Lead the planning, implementation, and periodic review of the CBSE Sanskrit curriculum across all grades.
- Ensure effective lesson planning, curriculum delivery, and adherence to CBSE guidelines.
- Monitor student performance and implement strategies to improve academic outcomes and board examination results.
- Promote innovative teaching methodologies and integrate technology-enabled learning into classroom instruction.
- Develop assessment plans, question papers, and academic enrichment activities to enhance language proficiency.
2. Faculty Management & Professional Development
- Supervise, mentor, and support Sanskrit teachers in instructional planning and classroom management.
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to improve teaching quality.
- Organize training sessions, workshops, and professional development programs for department staff.
- Foster collaboration and sharing of best practices within the department.
3. Department Administration
- Prepare academic calendars, departmental reports, and documentation required for school inspections and accreditation processes.
- Ensure the availability and effective utilization of teaching-learning resources, library materials, and digital content.
- Coordinate departmental activities, examinations, and academic events in alignment with school policies.
- Maintain records of student achievement, assessments, and departmental performance.
4. Student Development & Cultural Engagement
- Promote Sanskrit language learning and appreciation of Indian culture, values, and heritage.
- Organize Sanskrit Week celebrations, shloka recitation competitions, debates, quizzes, and cultural programs.
- Encourage student participation in inter-school competitions, Olympiads, and language-related activities.
- Provide academic guidance and support to students to enhance their language skills and confidence.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master's Degree in Sanskrit with B.Ed./M.Ed.
- Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE school, with leadership or departmental coordination experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of CBSE curriculum, assessment practices, and board examination requirements.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in integrating technology and innovative teaching practices into the classroom.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in curriculum planning and teacher mentoring.
- Familiarity with digital learning platforms and educational technology tools.
- Ability to organize cultural, literary, and co-curricular activities related to Sanskrit and Indian heritage.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
