Job Summary
The Remote Pilot Instructor is responsible for training and mentoring aspiring drone pilots in theoretical knowledge and practical flight operations. The role includes conducting DGCA-compliant training sessions, supervising flight practice, ensuring safety standards, and evaluating trainee performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct classroom training on drone regulations, airspace rules, meteorology, navigation, and drone technology.
- Provide hands-on flight training for multirotor and fixed-wing drones.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and DGCA guidelines.
- Evaluate students through practical assessments and written tests.
- Maintain training records and attendance documentation.
- Guide trainees in mission planning and industrial drone applications (surveying, inspection, mapping, agriculture, etc.).
- Provide troubleshooting guidance for drone hardware and software issues.
- Assist in curriculum development and training material updates.
- Maintain drones and training equipment in operational condition.
Qualification & Requirements
- Valid Drone Pilot Certificate Small and Medium (DGCA approved RPTO preferred).
- Minimum 2–5 years of drone flying experience.
- Experience in industrial drone operations (survey, inspection, mapping, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of DGCA drone regulations.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to handle batches of trainees and manage practical sessions.
- Basic knowledge of drone maintenance and software (Pix4D, DroneDeploy, etc. preferred).
Preferred Skills
- Experience in training or mentoring.
- Knowledge of GIS and mapping tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Leadership and team coordination ability.
