Job Summary
The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for supervising nursing staff, ensuring high standards of patient care, coordinating daily nursing operations, and maintaining compliance with hospital policies and healthcare regulations. The role includes clinical supervision, staff management, patient safety oversight, and administrative coordination.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Supervision
- Supervise and support nursing staff during assigned shifts.
- Ensure quality nursing care is provided to all patients.
- Monitor patient care standards and nursing practices.
- Assist in handling medical emergencies and critical situations.
- Ensure infection control and patient safety protocols are followed.
Staff Management
- Prepare and manage duty rosters and shift assignments.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, and discipline.
- Guide, mentor, and train junior nursing staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
- Coordinate staffing requirements during emergencies or shortages.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain nursing records, reports, and documentation.
- Ensure proper use and availability of medical equipment and supplies.
- Coordinate with doctors, departments, and administration for smooth functioning.
- Participate in hospital committees, audits, and quality improvement activities.
- Ensure compliance with NABH and hospital policies.
Patient & Family Coordination
- Address patient and family concerns professionally.
- Ensure patient satisfaction and quality service delivery.
- Maintain effective communication between healthcare teams and patients.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, legal guidelines, and ethical standards.
- Monitor medication administration and documentation practices.
- Support implementation of quality assurance and infection control measures.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. Nursing / GNM from a recognized institution.
- Valid Nursing Registration Certificate.
- Certification in BLS/ACLS preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Skills Required
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies.
- Knowledge of NABH standards and hospital protocols.
- Computer and documentation skills.
Working Conditions
- Rotational shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Salary
As per hospital norms and experience.
Pay: From ₹45,000.00 per month
