Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, along with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, GD&T, and product costing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design products using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and drafting; collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility
- Record and evaluate data, modifying designs as required for manufacturability
- Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials) and technical documents, including Control Plan, Process Sheet, and OPL
- Perform design calculations using core engineering principles
- Coordinate with fabrication teams during production, providing design guidance and hands-on support when needed
- Calculate cost estimates for final designs (material, delivery, overhead) and report to reporting manager
- Participate in weekly team meetings to share progress updates and plan upcoming work
- Carry out reverse engineering as required
- Apply working knowledge of GD&T
- Basic understanding of rollers preferred
Required Skills:
- SolidWorks & AutoCAD (minimum 2 years hands-on experience)
- Strong knowledge of GD&T
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Strong coordination and cross-functional teamwork
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach
