About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Network Operator to monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot our organization's network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure network uptime, respond promptly to alerts and incidents, and support daily IT operations across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor network performance, availability, and security using standard NOC (Network Operations Center) tools
- Identify, log, and escalate network incidents, outages, and performance issues
- Perform first-level troubleshooting on routers, switches, firewalls, and LAN/WAN connectivity issues
- Maintain and update network documentation, logs, and incident reports
- Coordinate with ISPs and vendors for connectivity issues and resolution
- Support installation, configuration, and basic maintenance of networking equipment
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for network monitoring and escalation
- Assist in scheduled maintenance activities, backups, and network upgrades
- Maintain uptime SLAs and report daily/weekly network health status
- Follow shift-based monitoring schedules (rotational shifts may be required)
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Any Graduate /Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or related field
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in network monitoring or network operations
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and basic routing/switching concepts
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds, PRTG, or similar)
- Basic understanding of firewalls, routers, and switches (Cisco/Juniper/similar preferred)
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in rotational shifts, including nights/weekends if required
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with teams and vendors
- CCNA certification is a plus (not mandatory)
Preferred Attributes
- Prior experience working in a NOC (Network Operations Center) environment
- Ability to remain calm and methodical during network outages or high-pressure situations
- Basic scripting/automation exposure (not mandatory but a plus)
