Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Medical Coding Trainer to deliver high-quality training to students and aspiring healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in medical coding concepts, coding systems, healthcare documentation, and industry standards, along with excellent teaching and mentoring skills.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct classroom and online training sessions on Medical Coding concepts and practices.
- Train students on ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, and Healthcare Documentation.
- Develop lesson plans, training materials, assignments, assessments, and practice exercises.
- Guide students in understanding coding guidelines, compliance standards, and healthcare regulations.
- Conduct mock tests, coding exercises, and performance evaluations.
- Provide individual mentoring and career guidance to students.
- Stay updated with industry trends, coding updates, and healthcare regulations.
- Prepare students for industry-recognized certification examinations such as CPC, CCS, and CCA.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare, Pharmacy, Nursing, Biotechnology, Medical Sciences, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of Medical Coding, ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Prior experience in Medical Coding training or healthcare industry preferred.
- Ability to explain complex coding concepts in a simple and effective manner.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with healthcare documentation and coding compliance standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Associate (CCA), or equivalent certification.
- Experience in training students or healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge of medical billing and revenue cycle management is an added advantage.
- Experience with online and classroom-based training methods.
