Job Details
We are looking for an experienced PESO Technical Consultant with a strong technical background in Chemical Engineering and Oil & Gas, preferably with hands-on experience in LNG projects, PESO approvals, statutory compliance, inspection, testing and technical documentation.
The person will be responsible for handling and coordinating PESO-related technical and statutory requirements for LNG storage, distribution and associated facilities. The role will involve coordination with PESO authorities, TPIAs, testing/calibration agencies, manufacturers, consultants and other government authorities to ensure timely approvals, inspections, certifications and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage and coordinate PESO approvals, licences, renewals and statutory compliance for LNG and related facilities.
· Prepare, review and coordinate technical documents required for PESO applications, approvals and inspections.
· Handle documentation and compliance requirements under applicable SMPV(U) Rules, Gas Cylinders Rules, Petroleum Rules and other relevant regulations.
· Coordinate with PESO offices, District Authorities, TPIAs, inspection agencies, testing laboratories and equipment manufacturers.
· Support technical documentation for LNG cryogenic storage tanks, pressure vessels, cylinders, valves, piping and associated equipment.
· Coordinate inspection, testing and certification activities for pressure vessels, cylinders, safety equipment and other critical installations.
· Maintain records of calibration certificates, inspection reports, test certificates and equipment certifications and ensure timely renewals.
· Coordinate with authorised/approved laboratories and agencies for calibration, testing and certification.
· Review technical drawings, equipment specifications, test certificates, manufacturer documents and other engineering documents for regulatory compliance.
· Support site inspections, commissioning activities and PESO inspection visits, including preparation of required documents and closure of observations.
· Coordinate with internal engineering, operations, project and management teams to ensure that technical requirements are completed within timelines.
· Track all PESO applications, approvals, licences, renewals, inspections and pending observations and maintain proper compliance records.
· Liaise with regulatory authorities and provide timely follow-up until approvals and compliances are closed.
· Identify gaps in statutory/technical compliance and recommend corrective actions.
· Assist in preparing technical submissions, letters, undertakings, compliance reports and other documents required by authorities.
· Ensure that all technical and statutory records are properly maintained and readily available for audits and inspections.
· Stay updated with changes in applicable PESO regulations, standards, notifications and statutory requirements.
Mandatory Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering is mandatory/preferred.
· Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas / LNG / CNG / LPG / Industrial Gas / Petrochemical sector.
· Hands-on experience in PESO approvals, statutory compliance and technical documentation.
· Good understanding of SMPV(U) Rules, Gas Cylinders Rules and Petroleum Rules.
· Experience in dealing with PESO, TPIA, government authorities and inspection/testing agencies.
· Strong understanding of pressure vessels, cryogenic equipment, cylinders, piping and associated safety requirements.
· Good technical documentation, coordination and follow-up skills.
· Willingness to travel to project sites, inspection locations and government offices as required.
Preferred / Additional Experience
· Candidates with any of the following experience will be given preference:
· LNG storage, dispensing or distribution projects
· ICAT approvals / certification / coordination
· Calibration of pressure, temperature, flow and other measuring instruments
· Experience with cryogenic equipment and LNG pressure vessels
· Experience with testing, inspection and certification of pressure vessels/cylinders
· Experience with hazardous-area / Ex equipment compliance
· Experience with NSWS and PESO online/manual application processes
· Experience working with TPIAs, NABL/approved testing laboratories or inspection agencies
· Experience in LNG/CNG/LPG automotive or dispensing equipment
· Experience in technical liaisoning with statutory authorities

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be technically strong, detail-oriented and capable of independently handling PESO-related technical matters from documentation and application through inspection, approval and closure. The candidate should be comfortable coordinating with government authorities, third-party inspection agencies, laboratories, manufacturers and internal project teams.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
