What would you do? • The position serves as the financial accounting bridge between Payroll Operations and General Ledger teams, focusing on post-payroll accounting, reconciliations, reporting, controls, and compliance for US and Canadian entities. • • Strong Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, and working papers. • • Knowledge of US and Canadian payroll regulations, CRA remittances, and ADP tax filing processes. • • Experience preparing and certifying balance sheet reconciliations, preferably using BlackLine or similar reconciliation tools. • • Experience with payroll GL integrations and journal entry preparation in a high volume, SOX controlled environment
What are we looking for? • are we looking for? • • Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (Commerce graduate, CMA, or progress toward a professional accounting certification) • • 3 to 5 years of experience in Payroll Financial Accounting, RTR, or General Ledger roles within a large multi entity organization • • Experience with Workday Payroll reporting, integration launches, and pay group management. • • Hands-on experience with Oracle EBS and or PeopleSoft. • • Familiarity with multi country payroll accounting (US & Canada or similar environments).
Roles and Responsibilities: • • Own end-to-end RTR accounting activities after payroll settlement for US & Canada. • • Ensure payroll expenses, liabilities, accruals, and tax obligations are accurately recorded and reconciled. • • Maintain compliance with SOX controls and statutory requirements • • Execute and monitor payroll-to-GL integrations. • • Investigate and resolve interface failures and posting errors. • • Validate successful postings and maintain SOX audit evidence • • Prepare and upload payroll-related journal entries. • • Analyze payroll reports and supporting documentation. • • Ensure appropriate handling of employee and client PII information • • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations across US and Canada entities. • • Investigate reconciling items, timing differences, and duplicate payments. • • Submit and manage reconciliation reviews in BlackLine. • • Review payroll journals for accuracy, account mapping, and SOX compliance. • • Approve journal entries and escalate unresolved issues when required • • Generate and distribute payroll-related financial reports. • • Validate payroll accounting data and reporting accuracy • • Perform quarterly balance sheet and income statement variance analysis. • • Investigate and explain variances exceeding established thresholds • • Respond to payroll-related finance and business queries. • • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies. • • Support audits, internal controls testing, and knowledge transfer activities
