Job Summary
The Nursing Superintendent is responsible for overseeing nursing operations, ensuring high standards of patient care, and managing nursing staff across the hospital. The ideal candidate should have strong clinical knowledge with experience in either ICU or general ward settings and the ability to lead and coordinate nursing teams effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, supervise, and evaluate nursing services across all departments.
- Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered nursing care.
- Supervise nursing staff, including scheduling, training, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
- Coordinate patient care activities with doctors and other healthcare professionals.
- Monitor nursing practices to ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control guidelines, and patient safety standards.
- Manage staffing requirements and ensure adequate nurse-to-patient ratios.
- Conduct regular nursing audits and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Handle patient and family concerns professionally and resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation and prepare departmental reports.
- Support emergency preparedness and ensure staff are trained in emergency response procedures.

Experience

- Experience in a multi-specialty or NABH-accredited hospital is an added advantage.
