Purpose
The position of Site Engineer within the Projects Department. It serves as a reference to guide performance, ensure alignment with project goals, and support recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluation. The JD outlines the essential functions and qualifications required to effectively manage construction site operations, maintain quality and safety standards, and ensure the timely and cost-effective execution of project tasks.
Role and Responsibilities
1 Site Survey and Verification
- Conduct surveys to verify physical details of the site and cross-check with final drawings to identify any discrepancies.
2 Technical Advising
- Act as the primary technical adviser on site for subcontractors and operations, providing guidance and support as needed.
3 Plan Checking and Material Oversight
- Review plans, drawings, and material quantities to ensure accuracy and oversee all material received on site, reporting any shortages or damages promptly.
4 Quality Assurance
- Ensure that all materials used and work performed comply with specifications and drawings, and conduct quality control checks at every stage of installation.
5 Change Management
- Coordinate with the Project Manager for any site-level changes, ensuring proper discussion and approval before implementation.
6 Material Requisition and Management
- Oversee the selection and requisition of materials, and control site waste and expenses in accordance with company policies
7 Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain detailed documentation of site engineering activities, prepare daily and weekly reports as required, and communicate regularly with clients and project stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Graduate, BE. / B. Tech or Diploma in any engineering stream.
Experience:
BE. / B. Tech in Electrical group course with 4 – 5 years of HVAC / MEP Project experience Or
Diploma in Electrical group course with 8 – 10 years of HVAC / MEP experience in Project Execution. Or
Graduate in any stream with Minimum 10 years of Relevant experience.
Skills:
- Proficient in conducting site surveys and verifying technical drawings to identify discrepancies and ensure alignment with design specifications.
- Strong capability in providing technical guidance and support to subcontractors and site teams for HVAC/MEP systems.
- Solid knowledge of HVAC/MEP systems, components, and installation standards, with the ability to ensure material and workmanship quality.
- Experienced in reviewing technical plans, drawings, and material specifications relevant to HVAC/MEP systems.
- Skilled in quality assurance, including conducting inspections and ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Capable of managing site-level changes, coordinating with the Project Manager for proper approvals and documentation.
- Proficient in material requisitioning, tracking deliveries, and managing on-site inventory and wastage as per company policy.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills, including preparation of daily/weekly site reports and maintaining communication with clients and stakeholders.
- Knowledgeable in safety standards applicable to MEP/HVAC site operations and committed to enforcing compliance.
