Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of advanced engineering systems including autonomous vehicles, drones, underwater platforms, and custom experimental setups. The role involves mechanical design, simulation, prototyping, fabrication support, and assembly activities in a research-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities1. Mechanical Design & Development
- Design and develop mechanical systems and subsystems for autonomous platforms and sensor systems
- Work on structures, enclosures, mounts, moving mechanisms, and integration assemblies
- Develop concepts and convert them into manufacturable designs
2. 3D Modeling & Simulation
- Create 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using CAD tools
- Perform mechanical simulations and basic structural/thermal analysis
- Optimize designs for strength, weight, manufacturability, and field usability
3. Rapid Prototyping & Fabrication
- Support rapid prototyping using 3D printing and other fabrication methods
- Coordinate machining and fabrication activities with vendors/workshops
- Validate prototypes and iterate designs based on testing feedback
4. System Integration & Assembly
- Carry out mechanical assembly and integration of systems as required
- Work closely with electronics and embedded teams during integration
- Support alignment, fitment, sealing, vibration handling, and field robustness
5. Special Purpose Systems
- Design and develop:
- Autonomous vehicle structures
- Drone-related mechanical assemblies
- Underwater vessel components
- Jigs, fixtures, and test setups
- Buoys and field deployment structures
6. Testing & Validation
- Participate in field testing and system validation
- Identify mechanical issues and implement corrective improvements
- Ensure reliability under practical operating conditions
Required Qualifications
- B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design fundamentals
- Experience with CAD tools for 3D modeling and drafting
- Basic understanding of fabrication and assembly practices
Preferred Skills
- Experience with FreeCAD/ SolidWorks / Fusion 360 / Creo or similar CAD tools
- Exposure to simulation tools (FEA / CFD basics preferred)
- Experience in 3D printing and rapid prototyping
- Understanding of drones, autonomous systems, or underwater systems is an advantage

Compensation
- Based on experience and capability
Job Types: Regular / Permanent, Full-time
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
