About the Role
We are looking for a highly analytical and experienced Warehouse Solution Designer to design, optimize, and implement efficient warehouse and distribution center solutions. The ideal candidate should have expertise in warehouse layout planning, process optimization, storage systems, automation concepts, and supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design warehouse layouts for optimum space utilization and operational efficiency.
- Develop end-to-end warehouse solutions based on client and business requirements.
- Analyze inbound, storage, picking, packing, and outbound processes to improve productivity.
- Conduct warehouse capacity planning and slotting analysis.
- Design material flow and recommend appropriate storage systems and material handling equipment.
- Prepare warehouse process flows, SOPs, and operational documentation.
- Develop manpower planning, productivity calculations, and cost models.
- Recommend automation solutions such as conveyors, AS/RS, sortation systems, AMRs, and AGVs where applicable.
- Collaborate with Operations, Sales, Business Development, Engineering, and Project teams to develop customized warehouse solutions.
- Support solution presentations, RFQs/RFPs, and client meetings.
- Work with WMS implementation teams to ensure solution alignment.
- Conduct site visits, warehouse assessments, and process audits.
- Monitor project implementation and recommend continuous improvements.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and supply chain processes.
- Expertise in warehouse layout design and process optimization.
- Experience with warehouse storage systems and material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Understanding of warehouse automation technologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD (preferred), and Visio.
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain or Operations is preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in 3PL, e-commerce, retail, manufacturing, or supply chain consulting.
- Experience designing warehouses, distribution centers, or logistics solutions.
- Knowledge of Lean, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and warehouse productivity improvement.
