Print Machine Operator — Roles & Responsibilities
Position Title: Print Machine Operator
Department: Printing & Production
Reporting To: Production Manager / Operations Head
1. Role Purpose
The Print Machine Operator is responsible for operating digital printing and finishing machines to produce high-quality graphics, signage prints, branding materials, and interior graphics as per Edge Studios’ production standards.
The role ensures color accuracy, print quality, material optimization, and timely execution across all printing operations.
2. Machines Under Responsibility
The operator shall handle and maintain the following equipment:
- Latex Printer (5 Ft – Roll to Roll)
- UV Printer (10 Ft – Roll to Roll)
- Flatbed UV Printer
- Roland Plotter Machine
- 5 Ft Roll-to-Roll Lamination Machine
3. Core Responsibilities
A. Print Machine Operation
- Operate all assigned printing machines as per job specifications.
- Load media correctly and ensure proper alignment.
- Select correct print profiles based on material type.
- Monitor printing process continuously to avoid defects.
- Ensure uninterrupted production flow.
B. File Checking & Print Preparation
- Receive print files from design team.
- Verify:
- Size & scaling
- Resolution quality
- Bleed & margins
- Color mode compatibility
- Perform RIP software setup before printing.
- Conduct test prints when required.
C. Machine-wise Responsibilities
1. Latex Printer (5 Ft Roll-to-Roll)
- Print flex, vinyl, wallpaper, and branding graphics.
- Maintain correct heater and curing settings.
- Ensure proper ink drying before finishing.
2. UV Roll-to-Roll Printer (10 Ft)
- Print large-format signage materials.
- Adjust UV curing intensity.
- Ensure scratch-resistant output quality.
- Monitor ink adhesion.
3. Flatbed UV Printer
- Print directly on rigid materials:
- Acrylic
- ACP
- Glass
- MDF
- PVC boards
- Maintain surface leveling and height calibration.
- Ensure accurate placement and registration.
4. Roland Plotter Machine
- Perform vinyl cutting and contour cutting.
- Weed graphics carefully without damage.
- Maintain blade depth and pressure accuracy.
5. Lamination Machine (Roll-to-Roll)
- Laminate prints bubble-free.
- Align prints properly before lamination.
- Maintain roller pressure and temperature settings.
- Prevent scratches and wrinkles.
D. Quality Control
- Inspect prints for:
- Color consistency
- Banding issues
- Ink smudging
- Alignment errors
- Ensure premium finishing suitable for client delivery.
- Reject and report defective outputs immediately.
E. Material Handling
- Handle media rolls carefully to avoid damage.
- Store printed materials properly before fabrication.
- Track media usage and minimize wastage.
- Label completed prints clearly.
F. Machine Maintenance
- Perform daily cleaning of print heads and surfaces.
- Check ink levels and refill safely.
- Maintain nozzles and perform calibration routines.
- Clean lamination rollers and plotter blades.
- Report technical issues immediately.
G. Production Coordination
- Coordinate with:
- Design Team
- CNC & Fabrication Team
- Installation Team
- Follow production schedules strictly.
- Prioritize urgent client jobs when instructed.
H. Safety & Workplace Discipline
- Follow electrical and equipment safety standards.
- Maintain proper ventilation during printing.
- Use gloves when handling inks and chemicals.
- Keep printing area clean and dust-free.
4. Daily Responsibilities Checklist
- Machine inspection before starting work.
- Confirm job sheet & file approval.
- Load media and perform test print.
- Execute printing.
- Quality inspection.
- Lamination / cutting preparation.
- Clean machines after shift.
- Update production status.
5. Skills Required
- Knowledge of large-format printing workflows.
- Basic RIP software understanding.
- Color and print quality awareness.
- Material handling skills.
- Attention to detail.

Objective:
To deliver consistent, high-quality printed outputs that support Edge Studios’ premium signage and interior branding execution.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
