Job Title: Plant Maintenance Incharge
Location: Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Plant Maintenance Incharge to oversee the maintenance and smooth operation of all machinery, utilities, and equipment in our seafood processing facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise, and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities for all plant machinery and equipment.
- Ensure uninterrupted operation of processing lines, refrigeration systems, cold storage, ice plants, generators, compressors, boilers, pumps, and utility equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in a timely manner.
- Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.
- Coordinate with production, quality, and operations teams to ensure maximum equipment availability.
- Ensure adequate availability of critical spare parts and consumables.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, GMP, HACCP, and company safety policies during maintenance activities.
- Assist in the installation, commissioning, and modification of new machinery and equipment.
- Ensure statutory inspections and certifications of plant equipment are completed on time.
- Prepare maintenance reports and submit regular updates to management.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in plant maintenance, preferably in the seafood, food processing, cold storage, or FMCG industry.
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, ammonia plants, compressors, boilers, electrical panels, motors, pumps, and industrial utilities.
- Ability to read technical drawings, electrical diagrams, and maintenance manuals.
- Excellent troubleshooting, planning, and team management skills.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems and maintenance documentation.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in seafood processing or food manufacturing plants.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, food safety, and industrial safety standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to emergency breakdowns.
Experience: Minimum 5 years
