Summary: The Staff Software Development Test Engineer is a senior technical leader responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and scalability of Tekion's software products and platform capabilities. This role combines deep software engineering expertise with strong testing and automation skills to design, build, and evolve robust quality solutions across front-end and back-end systems.
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in software development, test automation, system design, and quality engineering practices. This individual will drive technical excellence by developing scalable automation frameworks, leading quality initiatives, influencing engineering standards, and partnering with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and solutions for front-end, back-end, API, and integration testing.
Conduct comprehensive manual and automated testing for UI, APIs, databases, and distributed software systems.
Design and execute test strategies, test plans, test cases, and detailed test reports for complex applications.
Lead quality initiatives across engineering teams and influence best practices related to testing, automation, observability, and operational excellence.
Identify system risks, performance issues, defects, and technical debt, and drive improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with developers, product managers, architects, and engineering leaders to define quality goals and technical priorities.
Mentor engineers and QA professionals through technical guidance, automation best practices, code reviews, and problem-solving support.
Contribute to architecture discussions and long-term platform evolution by ensuring quality, scalability, and maintainabilityPromote a culture of ownership, engineering excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Deep understanding of software design, data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems concepts.
Knowledge of performance testing, reliability engineering, observability, and secure software development practices.
