Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Spice Processing Technician cum Trainer – Turmeric Specialist for our SHG entrepreneurship and livelihood development program in Thana Kalan, Una, Himachal Pradesh. The candidate will provide practical and technical training to Self Help Groups (SHGs) and rural communities in turmeric processing, spice production, value addition, packaging, and small-scale entrepreneurship development.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct practical training sessions on turmeric and spice processing techniques.
- Train participants in cleaning, boiling, drying, polishing, grinding, and packaging of turmeric and other spices.
- Demonstrate use of processing equipment, grinders, dryers, and packaging tools.
- Ensure hygiene, food safety, and quality control standards during production.
- Guide SHG members on raw material handling, storage, moisture control, and preservation methods.
- Train participants on branding, labeling, product costing, and local market opportunities.
- Support setup and management of small-scale spice processing units.
- Promote value-added turmeric products such as turmeric powder, herbal blends, and wellness products.
- Maintain training records, attendance, production reports, and assessment documentation.
- Assist in entrepreneurship development, market linkage, and livelihood promotion activities.
Eligibility Criteria
- Experience in spice processing, turmeric production, food processing, or related activities.
- Minimum 1–3 years of practical production or training experience preferred.
- Knowledge of spice processing techniques, hygiene standards, and packaging methods.
- Experience working with SHGs, farmer groups, or livelihood projects preferred.
- Good communication and practical demonstration skills.
