Job Description
We are looking for a highly experienced and hands-on Chief Project Manager – Civil to lead and manage multiple building construction projects simultaneously, particularly Government, Institutional and EPC/Design & Build projects.
The candidate will have end-to-end responsibility from Work Order/LOA, design & drawing coordination and mobilisation through execution, billing, testing, commissioning and final handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor multiple construction sites through Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors and subcontractors.
- Prepare and monitor Master Construction Programme, monthly/weekly targets, resource planning and recovery schedules.
- Thoroughly review Architectural, Structural, RCC and MEP drawings and identify discrepancies/clashes before execution.
- Coordinate with Architects, Structural/MEP Consultants, Government Departments, PWD/CPWD Engineers and Client representatives for drawings, approvals and technical decisions.
- Handle EPC/contract documentation, including RFIs, drawing approvals, deviations, extra items, quantity variations, hindrances, EOT and contractual correspondence.
- Arrange competent labour contractors/subcontractors for RCC, shuttering, reinforcement, masonry, plaster, flooring, finishing, electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting, HVAC and external development works.
- Conduct rate negotiation and commercial finalisation with labour contractors, subcontractors and vendors.
- Monitor manpower productivity, material planning, procurement, quality, wastage and project costs.
- Review BOQ quantities, measurements, contractor bills, RA Bills, variations and additional works with Billing/QS teams.
- Resolve site execution problems, drawing discrepancies and coordination issues quickly.
- Ensure compliance with specifications, approved drawings, QA/QC requirements and construction standards.
- Conduct regular project review meetings and report progress, delays, critical issues and required management decisions.
- Ensure projects are completed within contractual timelines, budget and required quality standards.
- Take complete responsibility for snag rectification, testing & commissioning, As-Built Drawings, O&M manuals, warranties, completion documentation and final handover to Government Department/Client.
- Monitor Defect Liability Period obligations and closure of pending defects.
Candidate Requirements
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in building construction, preferably with major construction/EPC contractors.
- Strong experience in Government/PWD/CPWD/Institutional/EPC building projects preferred.
- Must have independently handled projects from mobilisation to final handover.
- Strong knowledge of Architectural, Structural and MEP drawing checking.
- Strong understanding of BOQ, specifications, billing, extra items, deviations, EOT and contractual documentation.
- Proven experience managing multiple construction sites simultaneously.
- Strong network/ability to identify and mobilise labour contractors and specialised subcontractors.
- Excellent rate negotiation, contractor management and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, MS Excel and MS Office.
- Willingness to travel extensively to project sites across Assam/Northeast.
Preferred Background
Candidates having experience in construction of Government Buildings, Hospitals, Medical Colleges, Educational Institutions, Administrative Buildings, Residential/Commercial Complexes and large EPC projects will be preferred.
This is not a desk-based administrative position. We require a technically strong, hands-on construction professional who can personally inspect sites and drawings, resolve technical problems, negotiate with contractors, coordinate with Government Engineers/Architects and take complete ownership of projects until successful handover.

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹300,000.00 per month
